How Ready is Ready

How “ready” does a bride need to before the “Bride Getting Ready” photos begin? This question came from a sweet bride and I thought it was a perfect topic for a Wedding Wednesday post. If a bride and groom are getting ready in the same location, I often capture him getting ready as well. So let’s break this down but his and hers.

For brides:

  • Hair and makeup should be done
  • No jewelry should be on (hairpiece is okay to have in!)
  • Slip into gown but no buttons fastened or zippers zipped.
  • Bride’s mother and bridesmaid should be fully dressed (they are pretty backdrops in these images)

— Now, you’re ready for the photographer!

For grooms:

  • Pants and shirt are on
  • Leave jacket off
  • Leave tie off or not completely tied
  • Don’t put on cufflinks
  • Wait on boutonniere, too. His mom will want to put this on!

— Now, he’s ready for the photographer!
