Rural November Engagement | Alex + Holly

ENGAGEMENTS

It was a typical night out with friends for endless wings at Brick City Grill in Ames, Alex had talked to their friends a couple nights before about doing “something big” and requested assistance on picking up the flower he had ordered.

After the meal, they started walking back to their cars when all of the sudden one of their friends handed a bouquet to Alex. Holly was instantly speechless and tears filled her eyes. She knew that night wasn’t so typical anymore. Alex got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She could barely speak through all the tears and excitement but luckily, she got out a “YES!”. After many cheers and congratulations from their friends, they took pictures and celebrated the night away. It will forever be a night they’ll never forget.

Alex and Holly met at Iowa State University while studying Ag Business. After knowing each other for a year, they began dating.

They had planned their first date for a Friday night even though Alex didn’t get off work until 9:00 p.m. He picked Holly up and they went out for ice cream at Cold Stone. They didn’t want to end the night there so they decided to go for a drive. They started heading out of town and took random left and right turns to see where they would end up. They listened to their favorite country station on Pandora and Alex made Holly sing all night she was so embarrassed!). After about an hour and a half, they stopped at a gas station and Alex realized he recognized the town. They ended up going all the way to Grundy Center (which was completely fine by Holly)!  They took different roads back to Ames and finally arrived home at 2:00 a.m. Holly said this was the first and last time she had stayed awake on a long car ride. They ended the night with a hug and kiss but Holly doesn’t think I slept at all that night. :)

“I love that she fits right in with my family and never fails to make everyone laugh. She always has a beautiful smile on her face and keeps me on track with my goals.” – Alex  “I love how caring he is. He will stop whatever he is doing to help me. He is my best friend and one that I can always count on. He knows how to make everything better even when it seems like it can’t be fixed. He always right beside me and supports me through everything.” – Holly

Their perfect date would be going out to eat at Holly’s favorite restaurant, Olive Garden and spending time with each other.

“Holly is very bubbly and loving. She always finds a way to make sure everyone is happy. She has a great personality and is fun to be around.” – Alex  “Alex is very hard working and determined. He is always keeping me on my toes with all his ideas and projects he wants to accomplish. He has a caring and loving side that never goes unnoticed.” – Holly  In their spare time, they enjoy anything outside. They like going on walks, bike rides, and getting ice cream. They enjoy spending time with friends and family the most. On their wedding day, they are so excited to share it with all of our family and friends and spend the rest of their lives together. Alex + Holly. I had so much fun capturing these for you. Your love is adorable and full of joy. Thanks for being such great sports in the cold! It should be a little warmer for your wedding. ;) I can’t wait!
